The beautiful city of Winchester is home to one of England's most popular Christmas Markets. Set around the Cathedral's historic Inner Close, the market's interesting stalls, bustling atmosphere and unique location make it the perfect Christmas shopping experience! This fantastic-value, Yuletide weekend break also includes a visit to historic Oxford.

Itinerary
Day One
Leaving the local area early this morning we'll head to historic Oxford, home to royalty and scholars for over 800 years. Explore Christ Church - one of Oxford's grandest colleges - or the famous Ashmolean Museum (closed on Mondays). Take a stroll along the river or through the beautiful Botanic Gardens, and perhaps indulge in a spot of Christmas shopping.
After the chance to enjoy an early evening meal (payable locally) we'll continue to our hotel.
Day Two
Today we'll visit Winchester Cathedral's fantastic Christmas Market. Inspired by traditional German Christmas markets, it features almost 100 pretty wooden stalls selling hand-crafted jewellery and glass, paintings and toys, and much more.
Each exhibitor is handpicked for their interesting, high quality products, many of which can't be bought on the high street. Browse the stalls, searching for the perfect Christmas gift, and stop at the festive food court for delicious treats from Belgian waffles and traditional German bratwurst to gluhwien and hot chocolate.
You may also like to join our optional Cathedral at Christmas Highlights guided tour, on which you'll be intoduced to the cathedral's main attractions and history by a knowledgeable, local guide.
We'll begin our journey home in the afternoon, arriving back in the local area by mid to late evening, at the end of what promises to be a wonderful visit.
