Ludlow Castle is the perfect setting for the fun-filled Ludlow Medieval Christmas Fayre. Festooned with seasonal greenery, and bustling with jesters and entertainers, the castle boasts over 80 festive stalls hosted by traders dressed in medieval costumes. Add to this a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon, and you have a great-value break you'll not want to miss!

Itinerary
Day One
Leaving the local area early this morning we'll head to historic Stratford-upon-Avon. Discover its many Shakespearian associations - his Birthplace, his grave at Holy Trinity Church and, of course, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre - stroll along the river, browse the shops and perhaps enjoy an early evening meal before we head to our hotel.
Day Two
After breakfast we'll travel to the 'black and white' market town of Ludlow for the highlight of our weekend - the Medieval Christmas Fayre.
Behind the imposing castle walls you'll find a festive scene that will transport you back to medieval days. Jesters, minstrels, pipers, singers and story-tellers provide wonderful entertainment for all ages, and historical re-enactments, have-a-go archery and falconry displays create a wonderful medieval atmosphere, and traders offer an abundance of Christmas gift ideas - from medieval-themed arts and crafts to beautiful jewellery and leather goods.
Sample delicious festive fare, and explore the winding cobbled streets of the town itself, before we begin our journey home in the mid afternoon, arriving in the local area by mid to late evening.
