Day 1: London to Dijon
We leave St Pancras International by Eurostar for Paris, where we join the high-speed TGV to Dijon. We check in for a three night stay at the Hotel Ibis Dijon Arquebuse, which is situated close to the railway station and the city centre.We dine together in the hotel this evening. (D)

Day 2: Dijon
Today you have the chance to get to know Dijon during a guided walking tour of the city which is renowned for its beautiful churches and impressive architecture. The tour leads you into the heart of historic Dijon, from the former Ducal Palace, parts of which date back to the 12th century, to the delightful ancient quarter with its medieval half-timbered buildings and cobbled streets.

Your afternoon is free to explore the city further and spend some time browsing the stalls of the charming Christmas Market. The delicious aroma of pain d'épices fills the air, a traditional French gingerbread which has been produced in the area for centuries. Take the opportunity to purchase a host of other local delicacies including honey, mulled wine and of course, Dijon mustard, for which the city is famed. Alternatively, why not get into the Christmas spirit and have a go at iceskating on the ice rink at Place de la République? This evening we have dinner in the hotel. (B,D)

Day 3: Beaune and wine tasting
We set off this morning for Beaune which is just a short train ride away.With its beautiful buildings and pretty squares and gardens, Beaune is a pleasure to stroll around. The undoubted treasure of the attractive old town clustered within the ramparts is the famous Hôtel Dieu, or Hospices de Beaune with its distinctive roof of multi-coloured diamond tiles.

The town is situated in the heart of prestigious vineyards and we have arranged a visit to one of the town’s cellars which are located in a magnificent former Convent dating from the 13th century.We enjoy a guided tour of the premises before tasting some of the fine Côtes de Beaune wines for which the area is justly renowned.We return to Dijon by train where we enjoy a final dinner together in the hotel. Day 4: Dijon to London
This morning we leave Dijon and take a direct TGV back to Paris. Here we transfer across the city by coach to join our Eurostar service for St Pancras International. (B)
