Surrounded by the rugged countryside of the Pennine Moors, the sleepy Yorkshire village of Haworth - one-time home of the famous Bronte sisters - is transformed at Christmastime. This fantastic-value weekend break includes a visit to the village's hugely popular Victorian Christmas Market, and to Leeds's German Christmas Market, the Christkindlemarkt.

Itinerary
Day One
We leave the local area by coach this morning and travel to Leeds. Browse the major high street stores and trendy boutiques, and visit the Victoria Quarter, one of the UK's most beautiful shopping centres.
Don't miss the authentic German Christmas Market, Christkindlemarkt, in Millennium Square. With over 40 wooden chalets selling a huge range of seasonal gifts, delicious German delicacies, beautiful decorations and hand-crafted toys, you're sure to find some interesting presents, as the Christmas Carousel and festive funfair add to the Yuletide atmosphere.
You'll have a few hours to explore and perhaps enjoy an early evening meal (payable locally) before we continue to our overnight hotel.
Day Two
After breakfast, we'll make our way to Haworth's Victorian Christmas Market. Browse the festive shops and stalls, offering unique crafts, gifts and local produce, enjoy the street entertainment and visit Santa's Grotto as the smell of mulled wine and roasting chestnuts fills the air.
There'll be time for you to explore the village, and perhaps visit the Bronte Parsonage Museum (payable locally) where the sisters grew up. Stop for refreshments at the 17th-century Black Bull Inn, supposedly frequented by Patrick Bronte, or - weather-permitting - enjoy a walk past the local church (complete with stocks) downhill to Haworth Station, which has been perfectly preserved since the 1950s, and provided the backdrop to the film The Railway Children.
We'll begin our journey home in the early to mid afternoon, arriving back in the local area by mid to late evening.
Further Information
Appropriate Footwear
Please note that Haworth Village is set on a hill and some of the paths surrounding Main Street are quite steep. As most of the village is set with cobbled stones, we strongly recommend that appropriate footwear be worn.
