Day 1 London • Sorrento
We begin with a VIP Home Departure Service™ to London Gatwick or Heathrow Airport and your direct scheduled Alitalia or British Airways flight to Naples or Rome. On arrival we board our coach and travel south to Sorrento and our hotel the Imperial Hotel Tramontano, our base for the next six nights. Evening dinner is included.
Day 2 Christmas Eve • Naples
After breakfast we enjoy a visit to the colourful city of Naples, beginning with a walking tour of Old Naples. The highlights of our visit include the Church of Santa Chiara, the magnificent Royal Palace and the world famous San Carlo Opera House. Later you have the opportunity to walk along the San Gregorio displaying scenes from the nativity. Late afternoon we return to Sorrento and our hotel for the Gala evening dinner.
Day 3 Christmas Day • Sorrento
You are free to relax this morning before having a traditional, festive lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon you may wish to enjoy a drink in the hotel bar or in one of the other grand public rooms, whilst admiring the stunning views. Alternatively, you could take a gentle stroll around this charming town before dinner at the hotel this evening.
Day 4 Boxing Day • Amalfi Coast
Another memorable day takes us along one of the world’s most beautiful routes, the Amalfi coast. Leaving Sorrento, we travel along the winding road on its descent into Positano, greeted by thrilling land and seascapes at every twist and turn. The whitewashed Positano houses are jammed together in a cliffside cascade of colour. We later travel to the beautiful town of Amalfi, which has a relaxed atmosphere and where it is a pleasure to stroll. Another evening to enjoy the delights of Sorrento. Evening dinner is included and is followed by music.
Day 5 Sorrento
A day at leisure to explore this quaint town. Alternatively, you can relax and enjoy the fine facilities at the hotel before evening dinner. Weather and winter schedules permitting, a day excursion to Capri may be arranged.
Day 6 Pompeii
After breakfast we visit Pompeii, the wealthy town that was buried in AD 79 by a massive eruption of Mount Vesuvius. At the time of the eruption the town had a population of 25,000 people but it was completely engulfed in two days by this natural disaster. The city was first excavated in the 18th century and today is the finest monument and most complete record of everyday life in the Roman Empire. We have arranged a guide who will bring to life the day-to-day affairs of the town as you walk the ancient streets. We return to Sorrento early afternoon with the remainder of the day at leisure. Evening dinner is included.
Day 7 Sorrento • London
Today we board our coach for the journey to either Rome or Naples Airport for your direct scheduled British Airways or Alitalia flight to London Gatwick or Heathrow Airport. On arrival our staff will greet you and transfer your transport for your journey home to your own front door.
