Several churches with fine paintings, museums, botanical gardens and famous landmarks, such as the Chapel Bridge, await discovery. The natural beauty of the mountains and lakes is on your doorstep. Day 1 London • Zurich • Lucerne
We begin with Titan's VIP Home Departure Service™ to London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport for your direct scheduled British Airways or Swiss flight to Zurich. On arrival our coach transfers us to the Wilden Mann Hotel in Lucerne. After our welcome drink we enjoy dinner at our hotel this evening.
Day 2 Lucerne • Bern
After breakfast we depart for a journey through the Swiss countryside to Bern, capital of Switzerland and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its towers and eleven historic fountains, it is one of the most impressive examples of medieval town architecture in Europe, preserved virtually intact. We enjoy a walking tour of the city passing through the Old Town, including the Swiss Parliament building, Clock Tower, with its famous performing figures, and Rose Garden that offers awesome views of the Old Town. The remainder of the day is free for exploration. You may choose to visit the famous Christmas markets in Munsterplatz and Waisenhausplatz, or stroll along the four miles of shopping promenades where you will find antiques, fashion boutiques, jewellers, and of course, a large variety of restaurants and cafés for lunch. We return to Lucerne later this afternoon and you will be free to make your own choice of venue for evening dinner.
Day 3 Christmas Eve • Lucerne
Today you are free to spend an unforgettable day exploring Lucerne’s maze of small streets, bridges and promenades lined with historical towers, fountains and medieval buildings. There are many attractions to choose from such as the IMAX theatre, Picasso Museum, or the Museum of Fine Arts. We return to our hotel where evening dinner is included. After dinner you may choose to relax and enjoy the ambience of the hotel, or alternatively you may wish to attend one of the local churches for Christmas Eve celebrations.
Day 4 Christmas Day • Lucerne
After a leisurely breakfast, we have arranged a guided walking tour of Lucerne that takes us past the Old City Hall, the Baroque Cathedral, Lucerne’s most famous landmark, the Chapel Bridge and the Lion monument, described by Mark Twain as the saddest and most moving piece of rock in the world. We return for Christmas lunch. This evening we enjoy dinner at our hotel.
Day 5 Boxing Day • Engelberg
This morning we depart for the popular resort of Engelberg. Following a brief orientation tour of the village, we visit the Monastery church as well as the cheese factory (opening times & days permitting). We have time for a light lunch before returning to our hotel with time to relax before dinner is served. Alternatively, you may wish to try your luck gambling at the Casino, a lavishly redecorated theatre, located on the promenade.
Day 6 Lucerne • Zurich • London
We are transferred by coach to Zurich Airport for your direct scheduled British Airways or Swiss flight to London. On arrival at London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport our staff will greet you and transfer your transport for your journey home to your front door.
