DAY 1 LONDON • IN FLIGHT
We begin with a VIP Home Departure Service™ to London Heathrow airport for your direct scheduled Qantas flight to Hong Kong. During the flight you will enjoy excellent meals, complimentary bar service and a number of films.
DAY 2 HONG KONG
Following our morning arrival into Hong Kong, the vibrant city where east meets west, we take you on a tour of the island, which will include the floating fishing village of Aberdeen, Repulse Bay with its long sandy beaches, the lively central district and Victoria Peak, which affords great views of the harbour, mountains of Kowloon and the islands of the South China Sea. Following our tour we check-in at the Intercontinental Grand Stanford, our base for a two night stay.
DAY 3 HONG KONG
A full free day in Hong Kong to shop or explore as you wish. Experience a traditional streetside market showcasing exotic wares, or visit the Museum of Art on the Tsimshatsui waterfront. If shopping is on your agenda then the variety is endless from traditional markets to the central district's department stores and Nathan Road with literally hundreds of shops along its Golden Mile.
DAY 4 HONG KONG • IN FLIGHT
The majority of the day is free in Hong Kong before we transfer to the airport for our scheduled flight to Cairns.
DAY 5 PALM COVE
Following an early morning arrival into Cairns we transfer to the Novotel Rockford Palm Cove where your room will be immediately available. Situated just a short distance from Cairns, the coastal resort of Palm Cove is an ideal place to stay for exploring the north of Queensland. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore some of the resort's boutiques and shops, or perhaps to relax on the golden-sand beach before choosing from a selection of beachfront restaurants as the evening sets in.
DAY 6 PALM COVE
A free day at leisure to either relax on the palm fringed beach of Palm Cove, or perhaps explore the nearby city of Cairns with its array of shops, art galleries and new lagoon area.
DAY 7 GREAT BARRIER REEF
Today we have included a full-day excursion out to the Great Barrier Reef. Cruise on-board the sleek and comfortable Quicksilver catamaran to Agincourt Reef, situated on the Outer Barrier Reef. On arrival at the reef we moor alongside a state of the art pontoon where throughout your day on the reef you will have the opportunity to enjoy snorkelling over the colourful corals and tropical fish which inhabit the reef. For those wishing to view the wonderful array of colours and still manage to remain dry, perhaps visit the underwater observatory or board a semi-submersible submarine. The richness of the coral and marine life as fish swim all around is unforgettable. Lunch is also served on-board the ship during the day before we return to Palm Cove.
DAY 8 KURANDA
Another superb excursion is included today as we travel to the small market town of Kuranda. Travelling along an historic track which was laid in the 19th century and rises some 328 metres above sea level the train meanders its way through 15 hand-carved tunnels and crosses bridges spanning deep ravines. On arrival in the pretty rainforest village of Kuranda, visit some of the enchanting handicraft shops and galleries before we return by coach to the awardwinning Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park where we will be entertained with a theatrical performance displaying the lifestyle and history of these indigenous people. Late afternoon we return to our hotel.
DAY 9 PALM COVE
A further free day to relax and enjoy the resort facilities at your hotel.
DAY 10 PALM COVE • AYERS ROCK (CHRISTMAS EVE)
This morning we transfer to Cairns airport for our flight to the Red Centre. On arrival we transfer to the 5* Voyages Sails in the Desert Resort before exploring the close-by "Olgas", a series of impressive monoliths, before travelling to Ayers Rock to view a sunset which will leave you with fantastic memories of the ever-changing colours of perhaps the worlds most famous rock. This evening we enjoy an included dinner at our hotel.
DAY 11 AYERS ROCK (CHRISTMAS DAY)
Christmas Day morning and what better way to celebrate than with a picnic breakfast with a glass of bubbly close to the rock itself for a stunning sunrise. Following breakfast we take a tour of the rock base and Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before returning to our hotel. Our sumptuous Christmas Day lunch is taken in the hotel's fine dining Kuniya restaurant and the afternoon has been left free for you to relax in the excellent resort surroundings. This evening we have included the unique and stunning "Sounds of Silence" dinner, taken outdoors as the sun sinks in a blaze of colour. The atmosphere is completed by the sound of the didgeridoo and an astronomer who will assist your stargazing in a clear sky.
DAY 12 AYERS ROCK • BLUE MOUNTAINS (BOXING DAY)
This morning we transfer to the airport for our flight to Sydney. On arrival we transfer to the town of Leura, located in the Blue Mountains, for a two night stay at the Peppers Fairmont Resort.
DAY 13 BLUE MOUNTAINS
We explore the Blue Mountains today, named after the perpetual haze which colours them. The Blue Mountains National Park is one of the most visited areas of New South Wales and glorious views across the deep canyons, gorges and rainforest valleys and of the famous Three Sisters rock formation can be seen. For those who wish to see more of Australia's own 'Grand Canyon', a ride on the skyway cable car or the scenic railway, the steepest in the world, are worth an experience. Later we return to our hotel for time to enjoy some of the fine facilities.
DAY 14 BLUE MOUNTAINS • HUNTER VALLEY
This morning we leave the Blue Mountains behind and visit the Featherdale Wildlife Park, home to the koala, kangaroo and other examples of Australia's unique animal kingdom. We continue our journey to the Hunter Valley, centre of the world-renowned wine-producing region of the same name and check in to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, our base for the next two nights.
DAY 15 HUNTER VALLEY
Today we tour the beautiful Hunter Valley region and start at the immaculate 25 hectare Hunter Valley Gardens, with twelve feature gardens including a stunning rose garden with literally thousands in bloom, finely manicured oriental garden and sunken garden with its majestic 10 metre waterfall. Later we continue to the Hunter Resort Country Estate for a tasty three course lunch and a fascinating tour of the winemaking facility, followed by a tasting with the Cellar Master. After lunch we make a stop at the Lindemans Winery for further tasting before returning to the Crowne Plaza where the remainder of the day is at leisure.
DAY 16 HUNTER VALLEY • SYDNEY
Today we head for Sydney and on arrival you have time to explore the Circular Quay area before we take a short cruise of the harbour for great views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Later we check in at the Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour, our base for the next five nights.
DAY 17 SYDNEY (NEW YEARS EVE)
While the day is at leisure to enjoy the build-up to this annual extravaganza, this evening we enjoy one of the best vantage points on Sydney Harbour onboard the MV Sydney 2000. Our vessel departs from Circular Quay and cruises the harbour while serving a sumptuous dinner with all drinks included and a live band for accompaniment. The conclusion of our unforgettable evening comes at midnight with the stunning firework display from the harbour bridge, all viewed from the comfort of our ship with a prime location on the harbour water.
DAYS 18 - 20 SYDNEY
Three days at leisure in Sydney. Why not take a cruise to Manly or Bondi beach to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, or explore Macquarie Street - home of the State Conservatory of Music, Parliament House and the Mint - and the shopping areas of Pitt Street and the Queen Victoria Building. With most sites and areas of interest in close proximity, the best way to explore the city is on foot. Stroll through the streets of the charming old dockyards of the Rocks, saved in the '60s and '70s by conservationists, now a warren of shops, galleries and restaurants or take an in depth tour of the Sydney Opera House. For dinner on the waterfront, take the ferry to Watsons Bay and dine at Doyles, one of Sydney's well-known restaurants specialising in local seafood, a favourite of locals as well as visitors. There are a wide variety of restaurants, bars and cafés throughout the city to meet every taste and style of dining.
DAY 21 SYDNEY • IN FLIGHT
An opportunity for last minute shopping before departing for the airport and your scheduled Qantas flight to Bangkok or Singapore and onward scheduled flight to London.
DAY 22 LONDON
Arrival at London Heathrow airport where our staff will greet you and transfer you to Titan transport for your return journey to your front door.
