Christmas Cruising on the Rhine

6-Day Break
- Dec 22 – We travel by coach and join our cruise ship, the MS Rhine Princess, at Cologne. LS
- Dec 23 – Cologne (included). We enjoy a morning at leisure in this exciting cathedral city, with time to discover the colourful Christmas markets. This afternoon, following lunch on board, sit back and relax, as the Rhine Princess sets sail. Later this evening, we enjoy a welcome drink and introduction to the crew, prior to our arrival in the old roman town of Andernach, where we berth for the night. B,L,D
- Christmas Eve – Rüdesheim (included).
Marvel at the stunning scenery as we cruise upstream through the Rhine Gorge, passing the legendary Loreley Rock. Later this afternoon, we arrive in the vibrant town of Rüdesheim, home of the quaint Drosselgasse, a narrow street lined with traditional German bars and shops. It's party night on board tonight! B,L,D
- Christmas Day – Cochem (optional). Enjoy a leisurely morning cruise to the city of Koblenz, before our Christmas turkey lunch. This afternoon, our optional excursion takes us through the delightful Moselle Valley to Cochem. B,L,D
- Boxing Day – We depart Koblenz and cruise to Königswinter. Following lunch onboard, enjoy an afternoon cruise to Cologne. Later, enjoy cocktails with the captain and a 'farewell dinner' to complete our fabulous Christmas cruise. B,L,D
- Dec 27 – After an early breakfast, we bid farewell to our crew and travel by coach to Calais, then return home. B
Important Note: At some ports of call a degree of walking is involved to join your tour coach. Also, due to limited docking facilities at certain ports, it may be necessary to dock alongside another ship to gain shore access. Optional excursions are at extra cost. If the duration of the excursion means you are away from the ship at lunch time, a packed lunch will be provided.

Accommodation
You will spend three nights on board the 3-star standard cruise ship, ‘M.S. Rhein Prinzessin’ (sister ship to the Rhine Princess), which boasts 70 cabins, accommodating up to 140 passengers. Cabins, all with outside view,
are located on three decks: - Lower, Middle and Upper, and all have twin beds, climate control, television, telephone, en-suite facilities and hairdryer. On board facilities include a restaurant, lounge bar with dance floor, library (all located on the Upper Deck) and small fitness area and sauna (located on the Middle
Deck). The ship also has a reception lobby with small souvenir shop, and the open Sun Deck is ideal for viewing the passing scenery. There is a lift between the Middle and Upper Decks.
